COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a European funding organisation for research and innovation networks. COST Actions are 4-year networking projects which aim to connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in science and technology. COST does not fund research activities but finances networking activities and research collaborations.
COST emphasizes inclusiveness and equality in their Actions, and provide additional support to young researchers (below 40 years of age), women in science, and participants from countries where research is less intensive, called Inclusiveness Target Countries. The current list of Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITCs) include: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
