Training school on methods to assess PAW, Budva, 26-28 June

The next LIFT training school is planned to be held on 26-28 June 2024 in Budva, Montenegro. This will be a 3-day in-person training school with a focus on methods to assess positive animal welfare that is part of WG2. The training school is aimed at young LIFT researchers who wish to learn some practical skills on collecting positive emotion data in behaviour (sensors and play), cognition (judgement bias test) and physiology (heart rate variability). This training school will help to strengthen the scientific network on positive animal welfare, evaluate methods to assess positive animal welfare, and share theoretical aspects and empirical methodologies of positive animal welfare.

LIFT can reimburse 13 participants to attend. The targeted participants are young researchers, especially from Inclusiveness Target Countries. The selection for reimbursement will be based on the COST inclusiveness principles, but with a restriction of maximum 2 funded persons per country.

This training school will be organised in association with the Balkan Regional Animal Welfare meeting to promote attendance and networking, as well as the regional ISAE meeting for the East and West Central Europe regions, which are planned around the same week.
