When a little snout can LIFT the world

Three pig welfare scientists, Sébastien Goumon, Heng-Lun Ko, and Irene Camerlink, paired up with Berlin-based Kazakhstani artist Lena Pozdnyakova to produce a children’s book. After 6 months of writing and drawing they produced ‘When a little snout can LIFT the world’. The book was printed in 200 softcover copies and was gifted to all the participants at the LIFT Workshop in London, on 26th of June 2026. The objective of the book was to explain the emerging concept of Positive Animal Welfare to the future generations through a young pig’s unexpected journey.

Work produced under COST Action is free and open access, you can read and download the book below. Coming up: The online version of the book will be made available in several languages. The children’s book has received much interest so we are preparing a final print run of hard cover books (not soft copies this time). Please check out to pre-order a copy!

Pre-order form is available until the 30th of September 2026.
