Survey: Positive animal welfare in your language?

Survey: Positive animal welfare in your language?

The term ‘positive animal welfare’ does not translate well into other languages as the word for welfare may already include the word ‘good’. With more than 40 countries involved in LIFT, it is important to translate the term appropriately across countries and cultures. Sub working group 4.5 aims to provide guidance on how to translate the term appropriately in other languages so that it maintains a sensible meaning.

How would you translate the term in your native language? Let us know! We invite all (regardless of COST Action membership) to fill in a response here. You can answer for 2 languages. In case you are fluent in more languages, then feel free to make another entry.

The survey remains open until 15th of September 2025.
